Job Description

As a strategist, you will be part of the Social Administration's support team and work on behalf of the Social Committee with overarching, long-term, and knowledge-based issues. You play an important role in producing decision-making materials, analyzing needs, and contributing to the development of the Social Administration's areas of operation. The work is carried out in close collaboration with managers, colleagues, and other departments within the municipality.

Responsibilities included in the role:

  • Produce analyses, decision-making materials, and proposals for development initiatives within the Social Committee's areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare and respond to motions, interpellations, and other political initiatives and present cases in the committee.
  • Develop and follow up on work related to homelessness and addiction, including care and housing chains.
  • Be responsible for planning and follow-up of premises within the Social Committee's operations.
  • Coordinate work with housing and local supply plans in collaboration with relevant departments and the property department.
  • Drive and coordinate assignments related to preventing and breaking segregation and strengthening social cohesion.
  • Participate in municipality-wide investigations and collaborations on social sustainability, housing issues, and welfare development.

Other tasks may be added as the role develops.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic background in social sciences, social work, political science, or another area that the employer deems relevant for the position. To succeed in this role, you need to be accustomed to working with statistics and decision-making materials for the political level. You should also have experience collaborating in complex organizations. The work requires good knowledge of Swedish and the ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written form.

We prefer candidates with experience in qualified investigative or strategic work, preferably within municipal or regional operations. Experience in issues related to housing, homelessness, social sustainability, or addiction problems is considered an advantage.

As a person, you are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You take initiative and start activities to achieve results. Furthermore, you can make decisions and act based on what you believe, even if others disagree. The assignment requires a good ability to set clear goals to achieve expected results.
